CINEMATRONICS

Home

Cinematronics was a company which symbolized  the Golden Era of arcades.  It burst onto the scene in 1977 with the worlds first vector graphics based arcade game and just as quickly signaled the era's end with the death knell of animation streaming from a laser disc.  Although it existed before the craze of the late 70's and early 80's, this is when it produced such memorable classics as Space Wars, Rip Off, Armor Attack, and Star Castle.

This site is dedicated to the vector classics produced by Cinematronics, Vectorbeam, and their licensees, from 1977 through 1983.  Much of the material here can be found scattered in various other sites.  This is an attempt to gather and present as much as possible into one place and hopefully add a few more tidbits.  Please be patient as it grows.  I also ask that you bring to my attention any mistakes which I have made and any material which may belong here.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy.
